Move a website to UKC

Before you request a move

Collect the information needed

• An active UKC hosting service with enough storage and suitable PHP/database support.
• Temporary source-host access, such as Plesk/cPanel or SFTP and database details.
• A current independent backup of website files and databases.
• A list of mailboxes, forwards, scheduled tasks and DNS records that must move.

Migration workflow

Copy, test, synchronise and switch

1. Order the appropriate UKC hosting plan without cancelling the current host.
2. Open a migration request and provide the source platform, site size and required services.
3. UKC copies the available data to the new service.
4. You test pages, forms, administration, email and external integrations.
5. Dynamic sites are placed into a short maintenance window for a final database or file synchronisation.
6. DNS is changed only after approval, then both services remain available during propagation.

Migration scope

Tell us about anything outside the website

Mail, DNS, cron jobs, payment callbacks, API allowlists, licence restrictions and third-party services do not always travel with website files. Source-host limitations or encrypted applications may require a different approach.
