Send visitors elsewhere

How to forward a website or domain

Redirect a domain to another website using the tool that matches its current setup: UKC parked-domain forwarding or Plesk hosting.

First identify where the domain sends website traffic

Forwarding only works on the server reached by the domain's A record. A saved UKC parked-domain route remains inactive while the website points to Plesk, Wix, Shopify or another external service.

Use UKC Web Forwarding

  1. Open My Domains and select Domain Tools.
  2. Open Web Forwarding.
  3. Enter the complete destination, including https:// and any required path.
  4. Choose a permanent redirect for a lasting move or a temporary redirect for a short-term route.
  5. Save and check the visitor-experience panel.

If the page reports that the public website is hosted elsewhere, the forwarding rule is saved but visitors will not use it until the website A record points to UKC Parking.

Forward a domain in Plesk

  1. Open My Services, choose the hosting service and log in to Plesk.
  2. Open Websites & Domains and choose Add Domain or change the hosting type for an existing domain.
  3. Select Forwarding and enter the complete destination URL.
  4. Choose standard forwarding unless you have a specific reason to use frame forwarding.
  5. Save, then confirm DNS for that domain points to the hosting server.
Current Plesk website guide

Permanent or temporary?

Permanent (301)
Use when the old address has moved for the foreseeable future. Search engines may transfer signals to the destination.
Temporary (302)
Use for a short campaign, maintenance period or route likely to change back.
Frame forwarding
Avoid unless specifically required; it can create usability, sharing and search problems.

Check both HTTP and HTTPS

  • Open the root domain and www version in a private browser window.
  • Confirm the final page and path are correct and there is no redirect loop.
  • HTTPS requests require a valid certificate on the server receiving the original request.
  • Allow time for recent DNS changes to reach cached resolvers.

Website forwarding does not forward email

MX records control email separately. Do not replace or remove a working mail route while changing website forwarding.

The domain does not forward?

Send us the domain, intended destination, whether you configured Domain Tools or Plesk, the current A record, date and time tested, and the exact result. Include a redirect trace if available.
