How to remove 'Expired' and 'Cancelled' Domain Names

Understand when old domains disappear automatically and when UKC support can permanently remove a remaining record.

ExpiredHidden after recovery period
Manual deletionPermanent

Old domains normally leave your visible list automatically

Cancelled domains are hidden immediately. Expired non-.UK domains are hidden after 30 days and expired .UK domains after 90 days, allowing their different registry recovery periods to pass first.

An expired domain can still be recoverable

A domain remaining in the Client Area does not mean it is active. During a registry recovery window it may still be possible to renew or restore it, so UKC keeps the record visible long enough for you to act.

  • Check the domain's status and expiry date.
  • If you still need it, ask about renewal or restoration before requesting removal.
  • If it is no longer required, wait for it to leave the filtered list automatically.

Support can remove eligible records on request

If an expired or cancelled domain remains visible and you need it removed sooner, submit a ticket naming each domain. The request must come from an authorised user on the account.

  1. Confirm that the domain is marked Expired or Cancelled.
  2. Make sure you no longer need its account history or recovery option.
  3. List the complete domain name or names in your ticket.
  4. Confirm that you authorise permanent removal from the account.

Manual deletion cannot be undone

Removing the WHMCS record is permanent and does not itself restore, renew or cancel a domain at its registry. Active and pending domains cannot be removed through this housekeeping request.
