New registration status

Why your new domain name status may show as 'Cancelled'

A Cancelled status usually means automated registration did not finish; check the order and registry messages before trying again.

Cancelled does not confirm a completed registration

It is a WHMCS order status indicating that the automated registration path stopped or was rejected. Do not assume the domain is registered until you receive confirmation and the domain appears active.

Why automation may stop

  • Incomplete registrant details: a telephone number, postal address, postcode or company number is missing or invalid.
  • Nameserver rejection: a supplied nameserver is invalid, not authoritative or prohibited by the registry.
  • Manual registry review: restricted extensions such as .ltd.uk require additional information or approval.
  • Domain unavailable: the registry reports that the name cannot be registered.
  • Order or payment incomplete: checkout did not complete or the invoice remains unpaid.

Review the order before contacting support

  1. Open Billing and confirm the associated invoice is marked paid.
  2. Check your email for a registration failure or request for additional information.
  3. Review My Details for a complete name, address, postcode, phone number and email.
  4. Confirm the requested domain is not already registered elsewhere.
  5. If an error is visible in the order or domain page, copy its exact wording.

Paid orders should be reviewed by UKC

If the invoice is paid but the domain remains Cancelled, send us the domain and order or invoice number. We can inspect the registry response, correct eligible data and resubmit, or explain why a different domain is required.

Avoid placing a duplicate order while the first payment or registry request is being investigated.

Paid but still showing Cancelled?

Include the domain, invoice number and any error shown. This gives the registrations team enough information to trace the failed automation quickly.
