.ES domain registration requirements

Eligibility

Who can hold an .ES domain?

The holder may be an individual or an organisation with interests in or connections with Spain. The name must be available, comply with the registry's syntax rules and not be prohibited or reserved for another entitled party.

Registering a domain gives the holder the right to use that name in the domain name system; it does not create trademark rights or override another party's protected rights.

Before ordering

Details you need to provide

Holder type

Individual or the correct legal entity type for the organisation

Holder name

The person's full legal name or organisation's registered name

Holder identification

DNI/NIF, NIE, passport, foreign identity document or company registration number as applicable

Administrative contact

A named individual with authority to represent the holder

Administrative contact ID

The appropriate personal identity type and number

Contact details

A working email address, telephone number and postal address

Identification type

Choose the option that matches the document

• DNI or NIF for a Spanish national identity or Spanish tax identification number.
• NIE for a Spanish foreign resident identity number.
• Generic or other ID for a passport, foreign identity document or company registration number where accepted.

Enter the identifier exactly as it appears on the selected document. Do not substitute an unrelated VAT number or the identity of a person who does not represent the holder.

After ordering

Watch for a request to confirm or correct details

Most valid registrations are processed quickly, but the registry or registrar may request clarification or evidence. Monitor the account email address and reply promptly. Only send identity documents through a method specifically requested by UKC support.
