This moves registrar management
After transfer, UKC manages the domain's registration and future renewals. Website files, mailboxes and hosting are not copied, and existing nameservers normally remain unchanged unless you choose to change them.
Before starting
Have the domain ready to transfer
- You can sign in to the current registrar account.
- The registrant email address is current and accessible.
- The current registrar has removed any registrar transfer lock.
- You have requested the domain's transfer authorisation code.
Transfer procedure
Move the domain to UKC
- Start a domain transfer order through UKC and enter the exact .uk domain name.
- Ask the current registrar to remove its transfer lock and provide the transfer authorisation code.
- Provide the code to UKC when the transfer order or Helpdesk requests it.
- If the current registrar asks for the receiving registrar's IPS tag, use MICROLITE.
- Approve any confirmation request and wait for UKC to confirm that registrar management has moved.
Do not cancel the old registrar account early
Keep access to the current registrar and its registrant email until UKC confirms completion. You may need them to approve the transfer or correct a lock or contact detail.
After completion
Check the domain and its services
- The domain appears under My Domains in the intended UKC account.
- The registration status and renewal date are correct.
- The existing website and email still resolve correctly.
- If you want UKC Parking, hosting or DNS, configure that separately after the transfer.
Current registrar cannot provide the code?
Send UKC the domain name and the registrar's response. Do not include registrar passwords or the transfer code in an ordinary email.
