Can I pre-order a .UK domain name with you?

Find out what you can do when a .UK domain is available, already registered or approaching expiry.

Unavailable nameRelease is not guaranteed

UKC does not currently accept .UK pre-orders

If a domain is available, register it through the UKC domain search. If another registrant holds it, a pre-order cannot reserve it or guarantee that you will receive it later.

Register an available name now

Search for the exact domain and complete checkout while it remains available. Availability can change at any time until the registry accepts the registration.

An unavailable domain cannot be reserved

  • Try a clear alternative name or another suitable extension.
  • If you know the registrant, ask whether they are willing to transfer the domain.
  • If the name expires, check availability again after the registry's expiry process has completed.

Expiry does not guarantee release

The current registrant may renew during the expiry process, and released names can be registered by anyone. Avoid paying third parties who claim they can guarantee a particular .UK name.

The original .uk launch reservation has ended

The short .uk extension launched in 2014 with temporary rights for some holders of matching third-level names. That reservation period ended on 10 June 2019 and no longer applies to registrations today.
