Security fundamentals
Two-factor authentication requires something beyond the password before a login completes. It substantially reduces the value of a stolen or reused password.
First factorYour account password.
Second factorEmail or authenticator code.
Stronger togetherOne stolen item is insufficient.
How it works
The code is delivered to the selected email account or generated by an enrolled authenticator. UKC also provides a backup code for recovery.
What it protects
This matters because the Client Area can manage domains, DNS, services and billing details. Unique passwords and 2FA should protect the email account too.
Stay alert
Real-time phishing can ask for a password and current code together. Type the UKC billing address directly, check the domain and never share a live code with anyone.
