A domain is the memorable address people use to reach online services. Registration gives you the right to use that name for a defined period; DNS then connects it to a website, email platform or another destination.

The name
In example.co.uk, example is the chosen label and .co.uk is the extension. Subdomains such as www or mail can then organise different services beneath it.
Registration
The registration must be renewed and its holder details kept accurate. It is not a permanent purchase, and expiry can interrupt every website and email service that relies on the name.
Connection
DNS records direct visitors and mail to the selected services. UKC parked domains include useful tools, while a hosting plan or external provider can serve a larger website without changing the registration itself.
