The holder must be a qualifying limited company

The registrant must be an incorporated company listed at Companies House and entitled to use Limited, Ltd, cyfyngedig or cyf in its corporate name. Partnerships and unincorporated businesses are not eligible.

Domain label

The name is derived from the registered company name

Nominet applies a defined conversion algorithm rather than allowing any available label. The application needs the full registered company name and company number, and proof of incorporation may be requested.

Company changes can affect the domain

If the company changes name, is dissolved or leaves the active register, Nominet may amend, suspend, transfer or cancel the domain. Contact UKC before changing the holder or after a Companies House change.
