Who does what

Registry, registrar and registrant have different roles

Nominet maintains the central .uk registry and policies. UKC submits registrations and changes through its registrar channels. The registrant is the person or organisation holding the domain and responsible for accurate details and permitted use.

Getting help

Contact UKC first for normal domain management

Use the Client Area or Helpdesk for renewal, nameserver, contact, transfer and account-access questions. We can identify the relevant registrar path and explain when direct registry action is appropriate.

Registry messages

Do not ignore Nominet verification or expiry notices

Registry communications can concern data validation, rights, disputes or expiry. Check that the registrant email is current and ask UKC when a message is unclear before following links or disclosing credentials.
