Do you need a mailbox or a forwarder?
A mailbox stores email and has its own login, folders and ability to send. If you only want mail delivered into an inbox you already use, the included parked-domain Email Forwarding feature may be simpler.
Domain Tools
Order a Custom Domain Email mailbox
- Open My Domains and select Domain Tools.
- Open Custom Domain Email.
- Select Add mailbox or the new-mailbox action.
- Enter the address before @ and choose the mailbox plan.
- Review the complete address, storage and monthly price.
- Select Continue to secure checkout and complete payment.
Mailbox name
Choose an address that will remain useful
- Role address
- hello@, support@ or accounts@ can move between staff.
- Personal address
- A named mailbox gives one person a private inbox.
- Alias later
- Additional receiving names can point to an existing mailbox where supported.
- Avoid catch-all
- Named addresses reduce spam sent to invented recipients.
Mail routing
The domain's MX records must use UKC mail
The Custom Domain Email page checks the current route and guides you if the MX records are managed elsewhere. Do not replace a working external mail route until every required mailbox, alias and sender has been accounted for.
If the domain already uses a UKC web-hosting service, it may be more appropriate to create the mailbox in that server's Plesk panel instead.
After ordering
Set the password and test webmail first
- Wait for the order and mailbox provisioning to complete.
- Set a strong unique mailbox password from Custom Domain Email.
- Open Roundcube and sign in using the complete email address.
- Send an external test and reply to confirm both directions.
- Then add the mailbox to phones or desktop applications.
Cannot add the mailbox?
Tell us the domain, desired address, plan selected and the message shown by Custom Domain Email or checkout. Do not send a proposed mailbox password or payment-card details.
