Do not follow the old Plesk 12 video
Its menus, templates and publishing workflow no longer describe the current UKC platform. Existing sites should be backed up before changing builders.
Two current routes
Choose where the website will live
- UKC Website Builder
- Free with a domain parked on UKC DNS. Build, edit and preview before pointing public traffic to UKC Parking.
- Sitejet Builder
- A visual builder inside supported UKC Plesk hosting subscriptions, suitable when the domain uses a web-hosting service.
- WordPress or uploaded site
- Use Plesk hosting when you need plugins, server files, databases or custom application code.
Included domain tool
Start with the UKC Website Builder
- Open My Domains and choose Domain Tools.
- Open Instant Website Builder.
- On the Build tab, provide the company or project name, what you offer, pricing and public contact details.
- Create the site, then use the editor to refine text and images.
- Publish when ready. If the domain currently points elsewhere, the UKC copy remains editable but does not receive visitors until its A record uses UKC Parking.
Plesk web hosting
Use Sitejet Builder in a hosting subscription
- Open My Services and log in to the correct Plesk server.
- In Websites & Domains, select the domain and open its Get Started area.
- Choose Create Website and select Sitejet Builder where available.
- Choose a template, edit the content and preview it.
- Create a Plesk backup before the first publish if the document root already contains a website.
Publishing Sitejet can replace the existing document-root files
Plesk warns that publishing a Sitejet website replaces content in the website's document root. Back up an existing site and database before publishing a different builder.
Existing legacy website
Preserve the old site before rebuilding
- Download or back up the website files and any database.
- Keep copies of text, images, forms and contact details.
- Record important page URLs so redirects can preserve useful links.
- Test the new site and HTTPS before retiring the old version.
Not sure which builder to use?
Tell us the domain, whether it is parked or hosted, whether a website already exists, and what the new site needs to do. Do not send a Plesk or Client Area password.
