Sitejet Builder

Create a multilingual website in Sitejet

Sitejet can be used to build language-specific pages and navigation. Plan the language structure, translations and search metadata before duplicating large parts of the site.

Separate language pagesGive each translated page its own URL.

Clear language switcherLet visitors move between matching pages.

Localise metadataTranslate titles, descriptions and visible content.

Plan first

Choose a simple URL structure

Common structures use folders such as /en/, /fr/ and /de/. Keep one language per page and use consistent navigation. A visitor should always know which language is active.

Build process

Create, translate and connect each page

  1. Complete the main-language page and its mobile layout first.
  2. Duplicate the page for each required language and change its URL.
  3. Replace all visible text, forms, button labels, image alt text and contact details.
  4. Add a language menu linking equivalent pages.
  5. Translate each page title and search description, then test every language path.

Important limitation

Publishing tools do not replace accurate translation

Have a fluent speaker review business, legal and pricing content. Features vary by Sitejet version, so use the options available in your editor rather than assuming translation is automatic.

For larger international sites, plan SEO separately.

Canonical and language annotations may require specialist review beyond the visual builder.
