Website content

Create useful website copy without being a writer

Start with facts only you know: what you offer, who it helps, prices, location and contact details. A builder or writing assistant can shape those facts, but you remain responsible for accuracy and tone.

Start with factsDescribe the real offer.

Use assistanceGenerate a first draft.

Review every claimMake it sound like you.

Prepare a brief

Write down the essentials before generating text

Include the company or project name, audience, services or products, genuine benefits, prices where relevant, service area, opening times and public contact details. Add anything the website must not claim.

Create the draft

Use the UKC Website Builder or Sitejet as a starting point

Give the builder specific information and ask for plain language. Generate one page or section at a time. Headings should explain the offer, and each paragraph should help a visitor decide or act.

Before publishing

Check facts, personality and permissions

Remove invented claims, jargon and repetition. Confirm prices, qualifications, addresses and legal statements. Use images you own or are licensed to publish, then ask someone unfamiliar with the business whether the page is clear.
