Estimate demand
A simple site may use only a few hundred megabytes. Large image libraries, downloadable files, growing databases and retained mail can use considerably more. Video is usually better delivered through a suitable streaming service.
Measure and maintain
Check website files, databases, mailboxes and logs separately. Remove obsolete staging copies and generated caches carefully, optimise large images and review mailbox retention before capacity becomes urgent.
Resilience
Keep recoverable copies outside the live hosting account. A backup stored beside the website can be affected by the same deletion, compromise or account problem and should not be the only recovery path.
